Best donor in Russia is from Kazan

In May 2019, the results of the XVI All-Russian contest “The Best Donor of Russia - 2019” were summed up.

The competition was being held by the All-Russian Public Organization “Russian Association of Transfusiologists” from September 2018 to April 2019. The winners were determined in the following nominations: the maximum number of blood donations; the maximum number of donations of blood and its components; the maximum number of platelet donations; donor dynasty; regional leader of the donor movement.

Rustem Magsumovich Khabibrakhmanov from Kazan became the winner in the nomination "The maximum number of blood donations", he gave blood 102 times, it is 45.9 liters of blood.

“Currently Rustem Magsumovich is 61 years old, for the first time he came to donate blood in 19, having learned about patients who needed blood transfusions and responded to a call for help. Being a donor, throughout his life, he repeatedly saved completely unfamiliar people, while remaining in the shadows, but the reward found its hero!” – written in report.

The competition was attended by many regions of Russia from Kamchatka Territory and the Republic of Buryatia to the Kaliningrad Region, from the Republic of Karelia to the North Caucasus republics, which submitted more than two hundred best blood donors and its components to the competition.

A resident of Chelyabinsk Roman Yuriev has donated blood for the hundredth time this week. That is only the official count, before he helped many people.
On July 9, a new thematic train “Spasibo, donor!” was launched on the Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya line of the Moscow subway. It is dedicated to blood donation and donor movement in Russia.
News agency TASS relised special project “Nemaloy krov'yu” dedicated to importance of being donor and how donorship in Russia has changed for the past 10 years.
On 5th of June, in the run-up to the World Blood Donor Day, for the first time in history, a donor event took place at the closed viewing platform of the Ostankino television tower.
The unique educational and entertaining board game "Moskovskiy donor" was released by the National Foundation for Health Development and the Moscow Blood Donation Resource Center in conjunction with the Blood Center named after O.K. Gavrilov of the Moscow Department of Health with the support of the Committee of Public Relations and Youth Policy of Moscow, Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University and the Coordination Center for Blood Donation at the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation.
