A robot will help donors in Ufa
The service robot for medical organizations was created with the support of the Federal Corporation for the Development of Small and Medium Enterprises. The robot can communicate, answer questions, move freely around obstacles, and even measure human health indicators. At the regional blood transfusion station, the promobot meets donors and helps them prepare for the blood collection procedure: non-contact measures the body temperature, donor pressure, height and weight, conducts a conversation. This happens after an appointment with a transfusion doctor, who determines the health of the donor and prescribes the type of donation. According to the developers of the robot, it helps to relieve some of the burdens on medical personnel by performing simple operations, for which the doctor now does not need to be distracted.
“We are confident that the promobot will help draw attention to donation. After all, robots are also interested in keeping people healthy - they were created to help us, to maintain our health, cut back on the stress and cheering up. A blood transfusion station is one of the most unusual places to work for our robots. We already had robots-policemen, nannies and teachers, but we have assembled a robot that does such a good deed, perhaps for the first time” - Oleg Kivokurtsev, Development Director of Promobot.
In addition to measuring health indicators, the robot will also be able to communicate freely with doctors and guests of the institution. Thanks to artificial intelligence, the promobot will be able to maintain a dialogue, tell about blood donation requirements and help find the way to the buffet after the procedure.
The robot was named Donnie - after the word "donation". The name was chosen by residents of Ufa in the social networks of the regional blood transfusion station.
“We are proud that the promobot literally participates in saving people's lives, and we hope that people will be less afraid of robots” - Oleg Kivokurtsev.
The Promobot company was founded in 2015 in Perm. Since the same year he has been a resident of Skolkovo. Today Promobot is the largest manufacturer of autonomous service robots in Europe. Promobot robots can be found at Sberbank, the Museum of Contemporary History of Russia, Baltimore-Washington Airport, Dubai Mall. All of the company's products are manufactured and developed in Russia.
Most people know very little about donation and therefore trust the most unreasonable myths...
