Donor campaign for World Cancer Day was held in Dagestan

Everyone donated blood, could enter the federal register of bone marrow donors. The action was organized by the Volunteer Center of the Dagestan State Medical University together with the employees of the Republican Blood Transfusion Station and the All-Russian Public Movement «Medical Volunteers» of the Republic of Dagestan.
This time the transfusion station was visited by about 130 people: students, teachers and employees of the administration of the university. Among them: Amurbek Kachabekov, Vice-Rector for PR, Social and Educational Work, Imanali Mustafayev, Head of the Students Department, Albert Alimetov Assistant Vice-Rector for PR, Social and Educational Work, Milana Yunusova, Head of the Sector for the Development of Youth Initiatives and Student Self-Governments, Asiyat Akhmedova youth specialist, Karina Mutaeva head of the youth media center and others.
First, everyone had a preliminary medical examination to determine the blood type and hemoglobin level. After receiving the approval of specialists, they were able to proceed with the blood donation procedure. Before the donation, the volunteers were introduced to the list of contraindications and possible side effects, told about the process of taking blood, and were given instructions on how to fill out the documents.
«Donation is the ultimate proof that a man is a man. We have clearly demonstrated that all of us can become a bone marrow donor!» Khadizhat Tankayeva said, head physician of the Republican Blood Transfusion Station.
In just a few hours, more than 45 liters of blood were collected. In addition, 30 volunteers wishing to become bone marrow donors entered the Federal Bone Marrow Donor Registry. The organizers of the action express their deep gratitude to all caring participants for making a contribution to the donor blood supply of the Republic of Dagestan.
