On June 22, the donor marathon "Space is in our blood", dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the first flight into space of Yuri Gagarin started in the Kumye region.

Two years after the flight of Yuri Gagarin, the near-earth space was conquered by Valentina Tereshkova, the first woman in space. Her first flight took place on June 16, 1963.

Donors were asked to take a photo using an unusual attribute - a space helmet, as part of the memorable dates at the Blood Transfusion Station in the city of Budennovsk, Stavropol Territory.

“During the four days of the donor marathon, 293 people came to the blood donation point, of which 277 people were allowed to donate, and 35 people donated blood for the first time. A total of 130 liters of blood were procured” - noted by the Center for Work with Youth of the Budyonnovsky District.

The next donations will take place between July 27-30, 2021. The station's specialists invite residents of the region to take part and make a space souvenir photo.
