A donor story competition announced at the Novosibirsk Blood Center
02.08.21
Donors in Novosibirsk are invited to tell their stories and receive a prize. The organizers of the "I am a donor" competition hope that these stories will interest those who have not donated blood yet, and will attract many young and healthy people to the donor movement.
Participants in the “I am a donor” publication competition are invited to tell how they started donating blood and what prompted them to do it regularly. All contestants will receive diplomas. And the authors of the ten stories that have collected the largest number of "likes" will receive prizes - bags and sweatshirts. The publications will be included in the electronic journal about honorary donors of Novosibirsk.
“There are many reasons to become a donor, and each donor has its own story. Someone came to the blood center because they were curious about how they donate blood; another had trouble with a loved one and came to share blood, the third just saw an ad that blood was needed and decided to help. We would be very happy if each of you shared his story - why he became a blood donor. And, many who have not yet become a donor, after reading, might change their mind about it. We hope that stories will surprise you with their diversity and will also attract many young, healthy donors to the donor movement” - the message says.
Stories are accepted until October 10 at the email address NRabchikova@admnsk.ru or at the link https://m.vk.com/topic-985272_41044394. Also, the organizers ask you to add your stories with the hashtags #донорэтозвучитгордо, #донорновосибирск, #ядонор, #донор. The authors of the ten best stories will be awarded on December 10th.
For additional information, please contact Natalia Ryabchikova, chief specialist of the Youth Affairs Committee of the Novosibirsk Mayor's Office, President of the Novosibirsk Association of Children's Associations, by phone (383) 227-59-88.

Leading up to national donor day on april 20, a nationwide awareness campaign took place across Russia. In the week starting April 14, 2025, blood donation centers across Russia hosted a series of events to raise awareness about blood, blood component, and bone marrow donation. These events offered the public a chance to attend lectures, take part in tours, join workshops and open discussions with medical professionals, connect with experienced donors, and, most importantly, make their own donations. Participants learned more about the donation process and heard real stories from people whose lives were saved thanks to donors.
