FMBA Blood Center of Russia held the first donor lesson for medical classes

Irina Viktorovna Ivanova, head of the department, doctor of clinical laboratory diagnostics, told the students about the examination of donors before and during donation, how the blood type and Rh affiliation are determined. The schoolchildren also learned what bloodborne infections are, how they are transmitted and how to prevent them.
«Many students have already decided to study medicine and go towards their goal. It's great that they have the opportunity to listen to the invited experts and ask questions. We are looking forward to them on an excursion to our Blood Center in order to tell more detail about donation and share our experience» - Sofia Golosova, director of the Blood Center of the FMBA of Russia, chief freelance transfusiologist of the FMBA of Russia.
The school №2006 is a member of the project «Medical class in the Moscow school». As part of the project, schoolchildren study compulsory courses, such as «Step into Medicine» and «First Aid».
