Founder of the first North Caucasian blood donation resource center met with «Mashuk–2016» participants

25.08.16

Temirgan Baisiev, one of the founders of the first blood donation resource center in the North Caucasus and the head of the non-governmental organization «Club M Drive», met with the participants of the «Mashuk–2016» forum.

According to his words, for the first time federal agencies paid attention to Caucasian donor movement in 2011. Then, thanks to the non-commercial organizations work, The North Caucasus Federal district (NCFD) was 20% ahead of other districts in the number of first-time donors. Temirgan Baisiev noticed, that the majority of the volunteers come back to donate again, that is why his actions are aimed at attracting new donors.

«It is difficult for the Blood Service to find enough volunteers without the «not-for-profit» sector» – explained Temirgan.

Due to attention given to the community by Alexander Holopin, President's representative to the NFCD, there has been a new wave in the development of blood donation area. The famous politician still supports donation in Caucasus – said Baisiev.

«In 2012 politician attended our event and after that information began to spread rapidly through social networks and media. Statistic shows that after this event the number of young donors in our district has increased», – Temirgan Baisiev mentioned.

Donor resource center was created in NFCD in the beginning of this summer with the support of The Public Chamber and The National Fund of healthcare development. According to Temirgan Baisiev, this is the result of years of hard work, also the work of «Mashuk» community. In 2010 participants donated blood on the territory of the forum’s camp. This year more than 30 participants of the «Mashuk» forum decided to join the donor community. The most active got some souvenirs – t-shirt and a bracelet with organization logo.

«To donate blood you have to: be an adult, have a passport and a strong desire to do good. This is our main idea: you should join the community only if you sincerely want to do good», – Baisiev believes.

He emphasized, that today in Russia there are enough donors, but it’s still hard sometimes to find a rare blood type. The development of community will help to avoid situations, when human life is under a threat.

«Fortunately, the situation in comparison with 2007–2008 years has changed a lot. Blood transfusion stations were fully upgraded with new equipment, staff qualification was improved and there are government programs functioning. Now donation of blood is not only a good thing to do, but it also has become a comfortable process for a donor», – said Baisiev.
