28.06.17

All-Russian public award for cooperation to the development of blood donation movement "SoUchastie" has started on World Blood Donor Day. It is created to support organizations and individuals whose activities are aimed at the development of voluntary donation of blood and its components.

The award was established in 2010 by the National Health Development Fund and by the Coordination Centre of the organization, development and promotion of voluntary blood donation at the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation. The organizing Committee traditionally consists of representatives of the Federation Council, State Duma, Ministry of health of the Russian Federation, Federal medical-biological Agency and public figures. In 2010–2016 there were accepted over 700 applications from more than 70 regions of Russia.

Applications may be filed by socially oriented non-commercial organizations; commercial organizations; state and municipal agencies; authorities; initiative groups; volunteers, implementing projects related to the blood donation field; Media representatives, as well as usual citizens. In 2017, the list of contests within the award was extended: main, creative, and a contest for children; there were also created new categories. "We work for you. A sign of the quality" special prize for creating conditions of openness, accessibility, and comfort at Blood Service offices will be handed out within the award for the second time.

Detailed guidance for successful application for the contest has been developed by organizers of the contest; it will be available on the information resources of the National Health Development Fund and the Coordination Centre of the organization, development and promotion of voluntary blood donation at the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation.

"We are convinced that blood donorship concerns everyone in our society. Adults and children, non-profit organizations and businesses, large enterprises and small groups of volunteers are engaged in the development of donor movement, – stressed the director of the National Health Development Fund, the deputy head of the Coordination Centre of blood donation at the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation – Elena Stefaniuk. – One of the main goals of the award – is identification and implementation of the best practices in the field of blood donation. It is also crucial to support and increase the number of regular blood donors, to increase the level of responsibility of the donors towards blood donation, towards their health. That is why this year "Constancy is the sign of mastery" and "Healthy as donor" categories appeared in the award, where projects and practices, aimed at the support of responsible regular blood donation and healthy lifestyle development, can participate. This year we also created a category for children, as we have been receiving many requests about it from contestants of previous years and in order to represent blood donation as something that should be perceived as a norm of life since childhood. Children under the age of 5, children and youth associations, institutions of primary and secondary education may apply for participation.".

The award regulations are available in the thematic section on the National Health Development Fund official website, as well as in social networks. Source of news and photos: the National Fund of healthcare development.
