More than 1000 people from all over the country took part in the event «Help your neighbor» of FMBA of Russia upon joining the Federal register of bone marrow donors

As part of the all-Russian information campaign «Learn about bone marrow donation», launched in February 2023 with the support of the Federal Medical-Biological Agency and the National Health Fund, on March 16, the FMBA of Russia held an event aimed at drawing attention to the issues of entering the Federal Register of Bone Marrow and Hematopoietic Stem Cell Donors.

The action was attended by employees of scientific centers and medical organizations of the FMBA of Russia, as well as faculty and students of higher educational institutions. The action was held in all eight federal districts, in the cities of Rostov-on-Don, Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Vladivostok, St. Petersburg, Krasnoyarsk, Dimitrovgrad, Yaroslavl, Yekaterinburg, Lermontov, Essentuki, Tsiolkovsky, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Zarechny, Mezhgorye, Sarov, Glazov, Kirovo-Chepetsk, Ozersk, Zelenogorsk, Samara, Togliatti, Novocheboksarsk, Krasnokamensk and others. By their example, the participants of the action showed how important is to help patients with diseases of the hematopoietic system.

«The initiative of the FMBA of Russia to hold the Help Your Neighbor campaign is very important for the development of bone marrow donation. To date, the number of potential donors in the Federal Register is already more than 191,000 entries. More than one thousand people across the country took part in today's event. I want to thank all the donors who made a conscious choice and decided to «help your neighbor» - Olga Eikhler, head of the Department of Medical Support for Extreme Work and the Blood Service of the FMBA of Russia.

On August 20, Head of the Federal Medical-Biological Agency (FMBA) Veronika Skvortsova and Chair of the Elbrus Russian Leaders Club Tatyana Dyakonova launched an educational expedition aimed at creating modern, effective approaches to encouraging blood and bone marrow donation among young people. The two leaders wished the teams success in shaping youth-centered strategies for building a strong donor culture.
