Donor Day at VDNH: from donor event to family traditions

More than 100 people took part in the Donor’s Day at VDNH on 24 July 2023. Among participants are employees, volunteers, visitors to the Exhibition of Achievements of the National Economy and residents of Moscow.

There was a mobile complex of blood preparation of the Blood Center of FMBA Russia at the pavilion «House of Culture». Medical team worked inside the room. Participants could donate blood, learn about bone marrow donation and join the Federal Register of Bone Marrow Donors.

The donor action was within the project of the National Health Fund «Undiminished Reserve. Mentors of the donor movement to Blood Service». Representatives of the Blood Service, employees of the National Health Fund, volunteers - actively answered questions, talked about the importance of blood and bone marrow donation not only to donors, but also to all visitors of the Exhibition of Achievements of the National Economy. On that day, 59 participants became donors and 16 entered the Federal Register of Bone Marrow Donors.

VDNH is one of the favorite places of citizens, including for family holidays. Today we were glad to see donors with children. Small participants saw an example of responsible parenting - the most important mentors of their lives. The children realized that being a donor is not difficult and not scary, that good deeds always give a good mood, and, of course, received souvenirs from our fund. We hope that this day will remain in their memory, and in a few years they will become participants in the donor movement. This is our second joint donor action with VDNH. We thank all employees of the exhibition for the help in organizing and holding the donor day, active volunteer support and gifts to the participants. All donors, as well as medical workers of the Blood Center of FMBA Russia received as a gift from VDNH tickets for free visits to the Museum of Slavic Writing «Slovo», Museum of Achievements of National Economy and the center «Cosmonautics and Aviation». Donors also received souvenirs from the National Health Fund.

«Donor Post» worked at the Donor Day, where everyone could sign a card with the wishes of recovery to patients of Moscow hospitals. The cards will be given to those who receive blood transfusions, and good words, as the organizers of «Donor Post» are sure, help no less than the components of blood. The organizers thanked all participants who came and donated blood, joined the Federal Register of Bone Marrow Donors, as well as all volunteers.
