Republican Blood Center conducts in children’s camps of the Crimea All-Russian event «Donor Code. Mentoring». The action is implemented within the framework of the Year of the teacher and mentor. Its purpose is to increase the level of participation of the population, including the pedagogical community, in blood donation and bone marrow donation through the expansion of intersectoral cooperation, introduction of new propaganda formats, development of mentoring in the field of donation.

The action includes a series of measures aimed at involving in the sphere of donation education workers, youth, mentors from various spheres; the development of materials aimed at promoting blood and bone marrow donation among children and youth, development of a mentoring system in the field of donation.

The Blood Center of the Republic of Crimea organized joint work with the heads of children’s camps in the direction of development and popularization of blood and bone marrow donation. Since July, the event is held among children in different formats. The actions were held in children’s health camps «Pearl», «Brigantina», in children’s recreation camp «I&Camp» and children’s recreational camp «Rainbow».

The children had talks and lectures on the importance of donation. The staff of the Blood Centre told the children how blood donation helps to save someone’s life and allows donors to be more responsible about their health. The shifters were told how the blood donation process works, who can donate and who needs blood. With the guys from senior detachments were held game receipts about donation, and young children drew postcards for donors», - the Ministry of Health of Crimea said.

With the start of the new school year, educational activities will continue in schools in Crimea. Following the results of the action in the constituent entities of Russia, the best practices, projects and activities within the framework of promoting blood and bone marrow donation will be identified.

Veronika Skvortsova and Tatyana Dyakonova Launch Educational Expedition to Promote Donorship Among Youth

On August 20, Head of the Federal Medical-Biological Agency (FMBA) Veronika Skvortsova and Chair of the Elbrus Russian Leaders Club Tatyana Dyakonova launched an educational expedition aimed at creating modern, effective approaches to encouraging blood and bone marrow donation among young people. The two leaders wished the teams success in shaping youth-centered strategies for building a strong donor culture.

FMBA of Russia Promotes Donorship Through Series of Events at the “Territory of Meanings” Forum
