On the opening day of the Eurasian Women’s Forum, Valentina Matviyenko personally gave a start to the flash mob in support of the donor movement.

«Our flash mob has already taken part over 400 thousand people: representatives of youth movements, business, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, state corporations, RZD - and this once again proves the magnitude and importance of the donor movement. Special symbolism of event is that the action started on the site of the Eurasian Women’s Forum. Women have special qualities such as patience, mercy and care. Donation is primarily the care of people, on which their lives often depend. The female character is inherent in sacrifice and unselfish willingness to help those in need. I would like to point out that Russia is among the five countries with developed donation of blood and its components. 99% of all blood donations are free of charge», - said Veronika Skvortsova.

The concept of flash mob is based on the motto - «support life». It is not by chance that the word «donor» came from the Latin «donare», which means to give. Woman gives birth, and our common task is to support her.

Public awareness to the promotion of donation will allow to rethink and re-examine the special role of women in this area. Today, women are the driving force behind donation.

The comprehensive support of the donor movement is a distinctive sign of kindness and selflessness, which are inherent in all the Russian people and especially distinguish women. By supporting the donor movement, we all fulfill an important mission and make our lives better.
