FMBA Russia’s #DavaiVstupai project wins the Knowledge Award 2024.

27.02.25
Today, the nationwide marathon #DavaiVstupai, supporting the development of blood donation in Russia, won in the category "Best Contribution to Education in Sports and Healthy Living." The project by the FMBA of Russia was selected from over 9,500 applications submitted from 89 regions of Russia and 56 countries worldwide.

The award was accepted by Olga Eichler, Head of the Blood Service and Emergency Medicine Department at the FMBA of Russia, who represented the Federal Medical and Biological Agency at the ceremony.

"For years, the Federal Medical and Biological Agency has been promoting blood donation. Blood transfusions and cell transplants are vital for millions of people. Donors are needed every day, and their help is irreplaceable. But how many people know that donating blood is safe and even beneficial? What’s the secret to the great health of those who’ve donated hundreds of times? We have the answers to these and many other questions. By spreading awareness, we debunk myths and help people overcome their fears. Our motto is simple: More donors – more life!" said Olga Eichler, expressing her gratitude to the jury for recognizing the project.

This year’s esteemed jury included Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, Minister of Education Sergey Kravtsov, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova, and many other notable figures.

The #DavaiVstupai project was launched by the Federal Medical and Biological Agency in September 2023. Within just two months, over 230,000 young people aged 18 to 25 from 72 cities across Russia took part in various sports activities. The hashtag #DavaiVstupai has since become a symbol of a strong, healthy, and active lifestyle. Today, it is the FMBA of Russia’s flagship project, dedicated to promoting blood and bone marrow donation across the country. The agency has set an ambitious goal—to bring together a record number of young, energetic, and healthy individuals willing to join the National Bone Marrow Donor Registry as part of this nationwide initiative.

In fall 2023, the next phase of #DavaiVstupai was launched, officially presented at the XVI National Blood Service Forum in Moscow. More details about the project on будьдонором.рф.
