At the Tula Forum, Engineers Step Up to Save Lives in FMBA Blood Drive
The on-site blood donation campaign was held as part of a long-standing partnership between the Federal Medical-Biological Agency (FMBA of Russia) and the Russian Engineering Union, which has been actively developing for over ten years.
Since 2012, more than 11,000 donor events have been organized across the country, resulting in over one million donations involving more than 624,000 participants, including employees of industrial enterprises, university and college students, and residents of 63 Russian regions.
“The ‘Engineers of the Future’ forum, like blood donation itself, is about building the future. Participating in a donation campaign is a simple yet powerful act that allows a person to directly impact someone’s life and potentially save it. Together with the Russian Engineering Union, we’ve been making these life-saving steps accessible across the country for many years. We are pleased to give young engineers the opportunity to begin or continue their journey as donors,”said Olga Eikhler, Head of the Blood Service and Emergency Medicine Department at the FMBA of Russia.
“The donor movement is not just about humanitarianism; it is a mature civic choice. Participation in donation fosters responsibility and encourages engagement in public and political life. The Russian Engineering Union pays special attention to this cause, including through the ‘Always Near’ initiative, which supports our defenders and the residents of Donbas. We will continue to work with the Blood Service to promote corporate donation and implement new humanitarian projects,” added Vladimir Gutenev, First Vice President of the Russian Engineering Union and Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Industry and Trade.
The campaign received a strong response not only from forum participants and members of the Russian Engineering Union but also from exhibitors and leading industry companies. For example, organizations such as United Shipbuilding Corporation, ROSEL, Russian Helicopters Holding, Shchekinoazot, and KRET JSC took part in the event by organizing mass corporate blood donations through the mobile donation unit.
More than 80 young engineers visited the mobile unit during the event.
The forum will continue until July 3, bringing together top Russian engineering companies and participants to discuss trends in engineering, new production technologies, digital transformation, import independence, and the development of human capital.
