In the period of 24 to 26 of February, the second meeting of the volunteers of the Ussuriisk urban district will be held at the recreation center in Kamenushka village. Volunteers will present their achievements and results of their activity in the framework of the "A Drop of Life" project for the last half a year.

Volunteers of Ussuriisk successfully implement the project called "A Drop of Life" aimed to promote the donor movement in the region. This project became the finalist of the regional competition called "Volunteer of 2015" which took place in December in Vladivostok. The project is aiming to reach the All-Russian level. Now the project participants are preparing their presentation of the results of work within past six months.

Projects developed during the first meeting of the volunteers of the Ussuriisk urban district are being successfully implemented. "Drop of Life" is one of such projects which is taken care of by seven activists.

"An idea of volunteer blood donation came to us at the meeting of volunteers. We developed the project and experienced trainers helped us to design and present it," says Xenia Mezentseva, a young volunteer.

Volunteers posted information on social media about the importance of blood donation and began to actively promote the development of the donor movement.

Lusine Harutyunyan, the project coordinator, explains, “It is not that we only invite young people to join the ranks of the donors, but also explain why this is so important and who can donate. At the moment, due to this activity just 20 people came and donated their blood, but we are not going to stop on this result.”

Vlad Nesterov is one of those 20 donors. He went to donate blood as soon as he heard about the new volunteer project. "Being a donor is a manifestation of my citizenship. I'm young and healthy, why not to help people? Anything can happen to anyone," said Vlad Nesterov.

The first meeting of the volunteers was the impetus for the development of volunteering in Ussuriisk urban district. The meeting was held from 25 to 27 September 2015 and brought together 130 volunteers from 11 educational institutions of the district. Four business coaches for three days trained the children in command education and social projects. The initiator of the event was Eugene Korzh, the Head of UGO Administration.
