The project «Blood for life» is being conducted in Bratsk

Local office of Russian public organization «Russian red cross» is conducting the project «Blood for life». The purpose of the project – is to increase the number of voluntary donors among young people in Bratsk.

The program is aimed at increasing awareness of the citizens about donation by holding educational events and by encouraging those people who donate for the first time. According to doctors, such events will help to maintain the necessary amount of blood in Bratsk. Patients with serious diseases and injuries, children, women in the postpartum period and many other need blood and its components constantly.

The project began in June and will be completed in September. Few events were held within the framework of the Project.

A workshop with volunteers, which was attended by 60 people, was held at Bratsk Medical College on June 7. During the event doctors talked to youth about donation, also two students were awarded with souvenirs and grateful letters for being donors for few years.

The information about events that will be held in honor of the World Day of blood donor was presented on June 14, during the meeting with Mayor of Bratsk. Several people were rewarded for contribution to Bratsk Red Cross movement.

Videos about tuberculosis, smoking and HIV-prevention were broadcasted on TV in Bratsk. Also a free phone line has been organized in order to provide people with information about donor movement.
