Citizens of Voronezh participated in a donor event "From heart to heart"

On November 18th in Voronezh took place a charitable blood donation campaign "From heart to heart", organized by State Automobile Inspectorate. 37 people donated more than 20 liters of blood.

The event was organized at the Republican Centre of blood transfusion and was dedicated to the memory day of the victims of the road accidents. Students, representatives of public organizations, police officers and employees of large companies such as a Voronezh’s branch of Coca-Cola HBC Russia participated.

All volunteers attended a medical examination. Doctors made blood tests and measured blood pressure of all the participants. Although there were more than 50 people willing to donate, only 37 of them were allowed to procedure of blood transfusion. More than 20 liters of blood were donated. Two volunteers donated a rare blood type – O with negative RH factor and were rewarded by organizers of the event.

Round table involving a chief doctor of the Republican Centre of blood transfusion Alexey Bakhmetyev, representatives of the police and public organizations also took place within the event. Participants discussed measures of preventing of accidents, ways of assistance to victims and possible future charitable campaigns.

«It is encouraging that so many people responded to our invitation to take part in «From heart to heart» donor event. On behalf of the organizers, I would like to thank all volunteers. Blood donation is an important and honorable mission», – said a state inspector Oleg Samoylov.

«For many employees of our company blood donation is a public duty. In April in Voronezh we held a corporate donor event and now we are joining the city campaign. The importance of such events cannot be overstated», – noticed Evgeniy Sukhov, a regional manager of public relations Coca-Cola HBC Russia in central and southern regions.

On August 20, Head of the Federal Medical-Biological Agency (FMBA) Veronika Skvortsova and Chair of the Elbrus Russian Leaders Club Tatyana Dyakonova launched an educational expedition aimed at creating modern, effective approaches to encouraging blood and bone marrow donation among young people.
