AIST logo design competition continues

Applications for automated information system of transfusiology logo design competition are being accepted until August 31, 2017. The author of the best work will be awarded with a diploma and a prestigious Blood Service medal "For Contribution to the Donor Movement".

On June 1, 2017 the Federal Medical Biological Agency and the Federal State Healthcare Institution "Blood Center of the Federal Medical Biological Agency" (FMBA Blood Center) announced the launch of the All-Russian competition for the creation of the logo for Blood Service automated information system of transfusiology. Within two months the organizing committee accepted works from 11 constituent entities of the Russian Federation.

Professional designers and artists can participate in the competition, as well as anyone who is interested in and knows the art of design or has artistic skills.

The works of the contestants will be evaluated by an expert jury of organizers and specialists, engaged in the field of Blood Service automation, and in blood donorship promotion and development. The author of the best work will be awarded with a diploma and a prestigious Blood Service medal "For Contribution to the Donor Movement". Authors of logos, specially noted by the jury, will be able to receive recognition gifts. The results of the contest and the awarding ceremony will be held at the 10th All-Russian Blood Service Forum in Kazan on December 1, 2017.

About the AIST system:

Since 2008, within the framework of the national project "Health" and the state program of the Russian Federation "Healthcare Development", the Federal State Information System "Unified information base for the implementation of activities related to the safety of donor blood and its components, development, organization and promotion of blood donation and its components "(FGIS EIBD) has been successfully implementing and developing.

The basis of FGIS EIBD is software – the automated information system of transfusiology, which now allows to fully automate the processes in the field of blood donation and its components (registration of a donor, the results of his examination by a doctor, the process of the blood and it's components donation, it's further processing in accordance with technical regulations, storage and delivery to the health facility for clinical usage or drugs manufacturing).

About the state program of development of voluntary donorship of blood:

Since 2008, the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, the Federal Medical Biological Agency and the FMBA Blood Center of Russia have been implementing a large-scale Blood Service Development Program that covers all constituent entities of the Russian Federation.

Blood Service development program consists of several areas: technical re-equipment of Blood Service offices, the establishment of a unified information database for procurement, processing, storage and safety of blood and its components, as well as a set of activities aimed at the development of regular donation of blood and its components.

On August 20, Head of the Federal Medical-Biological Agency (FMBA) Veronika Skvortsova and Chair of the Elbrus Russian Leaders Club Tatyana Dyakonova launched an educational expedition aimed at creating modern, effective approaches to encouraging blood and bone marrow donation among young people. The two leaders wished the teams success in shaping youth-centered strategies for building a strong donor culture.
