For the volunteer donorship

At the end of June, the ceremonial signing of the next, third, Agreement of cooperation between FMBA Russia and the Russian Engineering Union on the program for the development of mass volunteer donorship took place.

The signing of the agreement was preceded by a press conference in which Vladimir Uiba, the head of FMBA of Russia, and Vladimir Gutenev, the first vice-president of the Russian Engineering Union of Russia, the first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee for Economic Policy, Industry, Innovation Development and Entrepreneurs told about the development of the donorship and cooperation between the organizations.

Six years ago, the President of the Union, Sergei Chemezov, has launched an initiative to participate in the development of the Donor program at the formal meeting of the Union. Committee has unanimously approved this proposal, and it was decided that engineering workers in our country would participate in such an important and necessary program. Six years ago, first agreement in the frame of state program referred to donorship development among industry workers with FMBA was signed.During this period, we organized about 3200 events, in which employees from more than 620 enterprises and institutes from engineering industry, located in 59 regions of Russia took part. Thanks to Russian engineers, the donor blood bank has significantly increased - in figures it is about 236 thousand doses of blood.

Gutenev expressed the hope that the volunteer movement, "the mark of which is donorship," will successfully develop in our country.

Vladimir Uiba, in turn, underlined the importance of donorship as criteria of high moral standards of a person: "Everyone who comes to donate blood saves a person, and not only one. Donorship makes members of our organizations better." The head of FMBA of Russia said that at the initial stage there was a problem - how to attract people. The goal was to find long-term partners in this field, and Russian Engineering Union became one of them.

On 9th of June 2012 in Moscow, the Russian Engineering Union and the Federal Biomedical Agency signed a long-term agreement of cooperation on the voluntary donorship in the state program "Blood Service". On 29th of June, 2018, another agreement for three years was signed.
