Student donor movement develops at Admiral Ushakov Maritime State University

The donor movement of the Admiral Ushakov State Maritime University was highly appreciated by Minister of Defense Sergey Shoigu at a meeting with professors and cadets of the university in Novorossiysk.

«About 20 thousand students from 400 universities of the country participate in volunteer activities and humanitarian missions, this year they gave more than 700 liters of blood. In the Ushakov Maritime State University, Penza State University, Bryansk State Technological University of Engineering and the Russian State Agrarian University named after Timiryazev, more than 600 blood donations were provided», - said Sergey Shoigu.

Today, donors from Novorossiysk University are headed by Timur Zakonyats, Chief of the 11th Company of the Faculty of Ship Mechanics. The future ship mechanic is convinced that by helping someone, you help yourself first, becoming a more kind and responsive person.

If three years ago only 130 children were active donors and regular guests of the city’s Blood Transfusion Station, today there are about 300 of them. This attitude of the Ushakov people does not go unnoticed. Letters of thanks from the chief doctor of the Blood Transfusion Station for support of the organizers of the donor movement in the city of Novorossiysk repeatedly came to the university.
