The Blood Service of FMBA Russia presented the Unified Donor Database at the «ARMY-2024» event.

It is a continuously operating hardware and software system for the exchange of donor information as well as about strategically important blood supplies and their components. The participants of the exhibition were able not only to get acquainted with this system, but also to see its work in action.

The unified digital contour of the donation information database is a key element for sustainable development and efficient functioning of blood service.

Donation databases are digital tools for industry management and coordination of the procurement of safe blood components for clinical use and pharmaceutical production of plasma, research, attraction young people in the donor movement, creating comfortable and accessible conditions for donors at blood service institutions. In real-time database combines information on current donor registers, operational stocks of blood components throughout the country», - noted the head of the Federal Medical-Biological Agency Veronika Skvortsova, who arrived at the forum on the day of its opening.

Also at the International Military-Technical Forum «Army-2024» a donation action of the Center of blood FMBA of Russia was held. Participants in the annual event could donate whole blood and become potential bone marrow donors by joining the Federal Registry.

Today all the needs of the population in the country for clinical use of blood and its components are fully satisfied. The total number of donors has increased to more than 1 million 400 thousand, exceeding by 1.4% the 2022 figure. More than 26,000 liters of erythrocyte-containing components and 450,000 liters of plasma are in permanent storage at the institutions of the country’s blood services, ready for immediate release. The formation of such blood reserves in the country allows to repel any attacks and threats», - said Veronika Skvortsova.

During three days, the mobile blood collection complex was visited by cadets, military personnel, representatives of the military department of the Moscow Patriarchate and other participants, as well as guests of the International Military-technical Forum «ARMY-2024». The FMBA Blood Center’s donor action on the Forum site is held annually. With each time the number of people who want to donate is growing, and participation in the campaign becomes a good tradition for many.

On August 20, Head of the Federal Medical-Biological Agency (FMBA) Veronika Skvortsova and Chair of the Elbrus Russian Leaders Club Tatyana Dyakonova launched an educational expedition aimed at creating modern, effective approaches to encouraging blood and bone marrow donation among young people. The two leaders wished the teams success in shaping youth-centered strategies for building a strong donor culture.
