The museum of the Blood service was opened in Bashkortostan.
The event is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of public health of the Republic of Bashkortostan and the 85th anniversary of the Republican Blood Service. The opening ceremony was attended by M.D. Tatiana Sorokina (the Head of the Department of the History of Medicine of the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (Moscow)), Ph.D. Azat Kinyabulatov (associate professor, department of Public Health and Healthcare Organization, Bashkir State Medical University), management and employees of the station.
A guided tour was organized for guests. Exhibits for the preparation of blood and its components and laboratory testing are collected in the museum. Including such unique objects as an apparatus for direct blood transfusion (1973), a kit for taking blood in field conditions (1971), equal-arm balance (1969), normative documents and literature on blood transfusion from the period of the 1930-1960.
An entire stand with awards and diplomas is dedicated to the legendary man, the transfusiologist Boris Tikhonovich Monakhov, the Second World War participant, many times awarded by orders and medals, who went through the entire war and saved thousands of lives.
Many pictures have been collected, including from the branches of a blood transfusion station. There is an interactive equipment for the film demonstration and photos from different periods of the station's formation. An interesting object is a bomber that delivered blood to the battlefield for wounded soldiers during the Great Patriotic War.
“The exhibits were donated by the station’s employees, the station’s branches and the former blood transfusion units. We hope that the museum will be developed, replenished with new objects and information. The museum is a place where knowledge, experience and history are being transmitted. Everyone is welcome to our Museum! ”- they say in the Blood Service of Bashkortostan.
