Interview with Anna Maximova
What did you feel when you learned about winning the contest? What do you think about colleagues' assessment of your professional achievements?
Excitement! Not every day you find yourself in front of our huge country, close to people from «TV», with congratulations. Pleasant excitement, attention, and at the same time the understanding that today I am entrusted with the honor to present Blood Service institution and myself as a specialist. I would like to share the joy of victory with colleagues, without whom such an outcome would be impossible. I thank all who have been with me, who have given time, energy and help!
You purposefully choose this field, there were neither doctors nor biologists among your relatives. Could you recall what determined this choice?
The female half of my family are teachers. I told my grandmother, a primary school teacher, about my profession, she was surprised. For me everything about human body was clear and interesting. When I was a student the road led to the Regional Clinical Hospital, to the Center of Clinical Immunology, equipped «on the latest word». The heads of the Centre, its leading doctors, technologies and methods used in practice aroused interest and admiration. So my choice was laboratory diagnostics, immunological direction! Already becoming a laboratory physician, I felt that laboratory diagnosis is multifaceted and interesting. Starting a career in a multidisciplinary hospital for a laboratory assistant is a good school of life. The Blood Service has become no less important. Here the laboratory grows not just across the board, being limited in the range of laboratory research, but deeply based on an understanding of the processes associated with infectious immunology and immunogematology.
What attracts you to your chosen career?
Treatment without laboratory service today is impossible. And wrong. Bene dignoscitur – bene curatur!
Your field of activity requires knowledge of the latest technologies, awareness of the advanced achievements of science. What helps you combine work and learning?
True. There are plenty of opportunities to gain knowledges, the only thing you need is a desire. An understanding of the need among colleagues and managers encourages even more.
What are your professional goals? What are your achievements?
Professional communities face serious challenges. It is important and interesting to be involved, to contribute to the solution of these tasks. I am convinced that we will continue to do our best, to meet the daily challenges of life and to strive to maintain and multiply the results achieved.
Personally about myself? I have an interesting job, I am wife and mother. And daughter. And even elder sister! In other words - I am a happy person.
You are the author of guidelines for doctors of the clinical diagnostic laboratory, tell us about. What is the incentive in scientific and methodical work, in the development of such recommendations?
To be fair, I am not the author, but the co-author. The main incentive were good people who helped the accumulated knowledge and skills to pass on, to make available.
Our traditional question: what would you wish donors and those who are going to join the donor program?
Take care of yourself and your loved ones. Protect your health. Share what you have with others. Be partners in good deeds.
Most people know very little about donation and therefore trust the most unreasonable myths...
Donor movement covers all who care about the fate of others, those who...
